OVERVIEW
Aconcagua stands majestically at 22,841 feet, securing its position as the second-highest peak among the Seven Summits, following Everest. It proudly claims the title of the tallest mountain outside the Himalayas and in the Western Hemisphere. This formidable test of endurance straddles the Andes, perfectly positioned equidistant between the picturesque South American towns of Mendoza, Argentina, and Santiago, Chile.
Characterized by rugged challenges, Aconcagua resides in a primarily arid and warm climate, providing a stable environment for summer climbing while still presenting snowy and crampon-worthy conditions at higher elevations. The altitude, elevation gains, and demanding load carries render this ascent both unique and strenuous, creating an extraordinary achievement for even the most seasoned mountaineer.
