Day 1: Start your tour with an early morning flight to Leh, located at an altitude of 3500 meters. Spend the rest of the day acclimatizing to the altitude and exploring the town. Enjoy delicious lunch and dinner.
Day 2: Today, we explore the fascinating history of Leh-Ladakh through a sightseeing tour. Visit Shey Palace, the former capital of Ladakh and the palace of the first ruler of western Tibet, Nyima-Gon. Next, head to Theksey Monastery, an imposing structure that provides a panoramic view of the Indus valley. Finally, visit Hemis Monastery, the most famous monastery in Ladakh, and learn about its history and the festival it hosts. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 3: Gear up for an exhilarating rafting experience in the Indus River. After a morning drive to Phey village, start rafting up to Nimoo. Later, drive to Liker village and begin your trek. In the evening, visit Liker Monastery. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 4: On day 4, trek from Liker village to Yangthang at an altitude of 3600 meters. The trail from lower Liker leads west, crossing a bridge and climbing gradually to Fobe-la at 3700 meters. Descend to Yangthang village, passing through Sumdo village and crossing Saspol Tokpo. Climb up to Chagatse-la at 4020 meters, and finally reach the campsite at Yangthang village. Day 05. Trek to Hemis Shukpachan 3600 meters 3-4hrs
Today, after a hearty breakfast, we set out to explore the beautiful village of Hemis Shukpachan. As we make our way down the trail, we cross the Yangthang River and begin a gradual ascent to Tsermangchen-la pass, standing at an altitude of 3850 meters.
After a short rest to take in the stunning views from the pass, we begin our descent towards Hemis-Shukpachan village, where we'll be camping for the night. (B, L & D)
Day 06. Trek to Temisgam 3200 meters 3-4hrs
We start the day passing through lush juniper trees and continue on to cross the beautiful pasture towards the northwest. Along the way, we pass by several Stupas before embarking on a level walk that lasts approximately an hour.
After that, we climb up to Meptak-la, standing at an altitude of 4030 meters, and then gradually descend along the valley towards Ang village, located on the banks of Dangdong Tokpo.
From Ang, we cross the stream over a bridge and follow the stream along its right until we arrive at the largest village of Temisgam, where we'll visit the Castle cum Monastery and Chomoling, the Nunnery. (B, L & D)
Day 07. Drive to Lamayuru 3460 meters
Today, after a delicious breakfast, we'll be driving to Lamayuru, where we'll visit the spectacular Lamayuru Monastery. This ancient monastery is situated along the valley plain, surrounded by stunning mountains on all sides.
As one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh, Lamayuru is steeped in history and culture, making it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the region. (B, L & D)
Day 08. Explore the Treasures of Rizong and Alchi
We start our day by visiting Rizong Monastery, known for its peaceful surroundings and scenic views.
Next, we head to Alchi, which is famous for its complex of temples and is considered one of the most celebrated monasteries in Ladakh.
The murals and statues here are unique in style and content, with influences from Indian art and iconography, making it a must-visit attraction for art enthusiasts.
