Tsomothang Summit Expedition 6030 Metres (22 Days)
The Tsomothang Summit Expedition is a 22-day high-altitude journey through remote valleys and high passes of Ladakh. This route combines long trekking stages, a dedicated base-camp period, and a summit attempt, following a gradual approach designed for proper acclimatization and steady progression.
Starting from Leh, the expedition moves into quieter landscapes beyond the main travel corridors, passing through small settlements and lesser-visited routes that lead toward the Tsomothang area. Along the way, travel is entirely on foot between camps, crossing mountain passes and following terrain shaped by water, wind, and seasonal movement.
The climb is supported by a structured camp system, including a dedicated rest day at base camp before the summit attempt. After the summit day, the route continues onward toward Kanji and Rangdum, before returning by road via Kargil to Leh.
This expedition is best suited to experienced trekkers who are comfortable with sustained days on the trail and high-altitude conditions. A safety-first approach, realistic pacing, and careful acclimatization are essential to the overall success and enjoyment of the journey.
If desired, the expedition logistics and level of support can be adjusted to match your team’s experience, preferred comfort level, and specific objectives.
