Anthony Hopkins –
“I am keenly aware that my remaining time on this earth is now shorter than the time I have already lived.
To me, it feels like a child who has been given a box of chocolates. Initially enjoyed with delight, but as they dwindle, each piece savored carries a special taste.
I have no time for endless debates on public policies, knowing nothing will change. Nor do I wish to engage with fools who refuse to act their age. I avoid gatherings where egos inflate and manipulators thrive.
Envious individuals, fearful of losing their status, talent, or achievements, trouble me.
Titles and positions are of no concern to me now; my soul is in a hurry.
There are few chocolates left in the box.
I am interested in humane individuals, those who can laugh at their own mistakes, understand their purpose, and embrace responsibility. They defend human dignity and stand on the side of truth and justice. That, to me, is the essence of life.
I want to surround myself with people who can touch the hearts of others, who have weathered life’s blows and retained the gentleness of their souls.
Yes, I am in a rush. I want to live with the intensity that maturity brings. I intend to savor every last chocolate remaining; they will taste sweeter than those already eaten.
My goal is to reach the end in harmony with myself, my loved ones, and my conscience.
I once thought I had two lives, but it turns out there is only one, and it must be lived with dignity.”
