Nun Kun Expedition – 14 days
The Nun Kun mountain massif is a fascinating duo of Himalayan peaks that stands out as a must-visit destination for mountaineers and adventure enthusiasts alike. The massif comprises of two peaks, Nun and Kun, with heights of 7,135 m (23,409 ft) and 7,077 m (23,218 ft), respectively.
Nun peak is the highest point in the Indian side of the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, making it a significant landmark in the region. While there are taller peaks in the Indian part of the Karakoram range, none match the beauty and majesty of Nun Kun.
Situated near the Suru valley, the massif is about 250 km (160 mi) east of Srinagar, the state capital. The surrounding area boasts of scenic landscapes, lush green valleys, and diverse flora and fauna, making it an ideal location for nature lovers.
Kun peak, located north of Nun, is separated from it by a snowy plateau that stretches over 4 km (2.5 mi) in length. This area is ideal for skiing, trekking, and mountaineering, offering breathtaking views and thrilling experiences for adventure enthusiasts.
If you're up for a challenge, you can take on the Pinnacle Peak, which is the third highest summit in the group, standing tall at 6,930 m (22,736 ft). Scaling this peak requires skill, experience, and physical endurance, but the reward is a stunning view of the surrounding peaks and valleys that will leave you awe-inspired.

Summit Programs
Day 01. Delhi – Leh (3500 m)
Take a short one-hour flight to Leh, the capital of Ladakh, known for its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. During the flight, you will get to witness spectacular views of some of the world’s highest peaks, including K2.
Upon arrival, spend the day acclimatizing to the altitude by exploring the monasteries and markets or simply relaxing at the hotel.

Day 02. Leh to Kanji Drive
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive towards Kanji village. Enroute, visit some of the region's famous monasteries like Phyang, Liker, Alchi, and Lamayuru to get a glimpse of the local culture and architecture.
Upon reaching Kanji, settle into a comfortable tented campsite and prepare for the next day's trek.
Day 03. Kanji to Lartsa
Enjoy a hearty breakfast before beginning the trek. The first 3 hours of the trek are relatively easy, followed by a gradual ascent towards the campsite.

Day 04. Lartsa to Rangdum Pulu via Kanji La Pass
After breakfast, begin the trek with a gradual ascent followed by a 2-hour walk on the glacier, offering stunning views of the Himalayan snow-capped peaks. Once you cross the Kanji La pass, you will encounter a long descent on rocky terrain until you reach the campsite.

Day 05. Rangdum Pulu to Rangdum
Embark on an easy descent along the river until you reach the Rangdum Monastery campsite, where you can explore the cultural and spiritual significance of the place.

Day 06. Rangdum to Gulmotungo
After breakfast, enjoy an easy trek on the pasture lands along the Suru River before crossing the river and settling into a scenic campsite.

Day 07. Gulmotungo to Chumik Lakmo
After breakfast, enter the valley of Nun Kun, and begin a gradual ascent on rocky terrain, crossing snow bridges and occasionally forging your own path due to the old trails being washed out by avalanches in the winter months.
Enjoy a scenic campsite with no other options in the area.

Day 08. Chumik Lakmo to Man Base Camp 4500m
Embark on a gradual ascent on rocky terrain, crossing snow bridges and forging your own path in the valley of Nun Kun. The base camp at 4500m is suitable for several peaks, and you will use it as a starting point for the summit attempt.

Day 09.
This day is dedicated to climbing the summit of Nun Kun, which is dependent on weather conditions. The ascent can take up to a week or longer, depending on the weather. The experienced climbing guides will lead the way, ensuring safety and success in reaching the summit.
Day 10. Base to Chumik lakmo
After a successful summit, the team will descend from the base camp to Chumik lakmo. This trek is a gradual descent and will take approximately 6-7 hours. Upon arrival at the campsite, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and relax after the strenuous climb.
Day 11. Chumik to Golmotungo
Today’s trek is relatively easy, with a gradual ascent along pasturelands and the Suru River. The trail offers stunning views of the Himalayan peaks and will take approximately 6-7 hours to reach the campsite at Golmotungo.
Day 12. Gulmotungo to Kargil drive
After breakfast, the team will pack up camp and head towards Kargil by Jeep. The drive will take approximately 6-7 hours and will include several scenic stops for photos and lunch. Upon arrival in Kargil, check into a hotel for a comfortable night’s rest.
Day 13. Kargil to Leh
After breakfast at the hotel, the team will depart for Leh, the capital of Ladakh. The drive will take approximately 6-7 hours and will include several stops for lunch and sightseeing along the way. Upon arrival in Leh, check into a hotel for a comfortable night’s rest.
Day 14. Morning transfer to airport and fly to Delhi
After breakfast, the team will transfer to the airport for a flight back to Delhi. This marks the end of the Nun Kun trekking and climbing expedition. The memories of the stunning Himalayan scenery and the exhilaration of reaching the summit of Nun Kun will be cherished for a lifetime.
