From the traditional architecture of Chiktan to the vibrant charm of the Aryan Valley, each stop offers an authentic glimpse into local culture and hospitality. Sharing meals prepared from garden-fresh ingredients, you’ll experience the simple joy of connection that defines life in these remote mountain communities.

Itinerary

Day 1: Leh to Chiktan – The Journey Begins

Your journey starts with a scenic drive from Leh to the serene village of Kukarchey Chiktan, a gateway to the less-traveled side of Ladakh.
Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed at Abapa House Homestay — a 400-year-old Buddhist family home set in the heart of Chiktan.
This beautifully preserved residence, complete with a small private gompa, reflects the deep harmony of cultures in the region.
Settle in, enjoy a traditional Ladakhi meal, and spend the evening exchanging stories with your hosts before a restful night surrounded by mountain calm.

Day 2: Hike to Shashi Lake & Drive to Aryan Valley

After breakfast, set out for Lamsu Sando, the starting point of your trek to Shashi Lake.
The trail gradually ascends through alpine terrain, offering panoramic views and the quiet rhythm of high-altitude wilderness.
Upon reaching the lake, spend time soaking in the serenity — the mirror-like waters and wide-open skies create an unforgettable sense of peace.
After the visit, continue your journey by road toward the Aryan Valley, where you’ll spend the night in a charming village homestay surrounded by apricot orchards and warm smiles.

Day 3: Exploring Indus Valley Villages

Today is dedicated to discovering the cultural and natural beauty of the Indus Valley.
Drive through picturesque villages such as Takmachik, Skurbuchan, and Achinathang,
each known for its traditional Ladakhi homes, orchards, and welcoming communities.
Take your time to wander through these villages, meet locals, and enjoy a homestay experience that feels both authentic and heartwarming.

Day 4: Return to Leh

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Leh, retracing scenic stretches of the Indus River and mountain passes.
The drive back offers one last look at the landscapes and lives that make Ladakh so unforgettable.
Arrive in Leh by late afternoon, carrying with you a sense of connection — to the mountains, the people, and the quiet beauty of Shashi Lake.

This 4-day journey blends gentle adventure with authentic cultural encounters,
offering a heartfelt connection to Ladakh’s landscapes and its people — an experience that stays with you long after you’ve left the mountains behind.
